Big Time Fun for the Smallest K-Days Fairgoers

June 20th, 2014

The K-Days kids experience is more than just a midway - There is a world of excitement and fun to be explored from July 18-27 at this year’s festival!

The world can seem impossibly big when you’re an adult—but that’s nothing compared to how it feels to a child. Every step outside a child’s home is an adventure in a vast environment that he or she is still learning how to deal with and understand. But what if there were a place built specifically with them in mind? At K-Days we’ve created a roster of exhibiting programming just for the young and the young at heart!

Let your mini fairgoers discover the world by joining us at K-Days Kids Town. Your family can explore this kid-sized community and work in one of the neighborhood industries, including the post office, library, art gallery or recycling depot. Little fairgoers can kid test different occupations in downtown Kids Town such as playing doctor with Stollery Children’s Hospital teddy bears, or donating to the Edmonton Food Bank in the Kids Town grocery store. But no town would be complete without its’ local celebrities including all your kid’s favourite television characters! The Kids Town main stage is the paramount entertainment district for our youngest K-Days visitors with meet and greets and shows by much loved Kids Town celebrities including My Little Pony, Dora the Explorer, Barney, and more!

In order to grow up big and strong and to take on the world, learn about how our food travels from the farm to our bellies! Discover Alberta’s agriculture industry in The Farm, K-Days’ interactive food production discovery zone. The entire family can learn about poultry, beef, pork, dairy and sheep production, the history of horses and crop growing. Visit our garden, meet some farm animals, buzz on over to the bee exhibit or learn about seeds and composting. The opportunities are endless!

Young history buffs will have the chance to relive the excitement of the gold-rush and strike it rich— because Gold Panning is back at K-Days! The Klondike was built on the dreams of those searching the North for those almost invisible glints of glory and at the Chilkoot Gold Mine you will have the chance to replicate their incredible experience! Tour Klondike Park presented by Air North and Tourism Yukon in style on the Klondike Express, the perfect way to relive the old-fashioned railroad experience!

Give your mini fairgoers memories to last a lifetime. Join us from July 18-27, 2014 for even more music, rides, food and shopping at this year’s K-Days.  For more information including where to get your tickets, please
