We asked you, our readers, where your favourite campgrounds are around Alberta. Here’s a snippet of what you said:

“Elk Island is great. Close enough in case you need to pull the plug. Great playground, flush toilets and showers. Pembina is also great!” ~ Bonnie M.

“At Whistlers and Elk Island you can also rent a tipi or otentik which is a canvas stationary tent if you don’t want to completely rough-it with a tent, but don’t have a camper. Great family option.” ~ Allison H.

“Pigeon Lake has an amazing campground that is disability-friendly and very accommodating of families  who have children in wheelchairs or other matters.” ~Hailey V.

“Wabamum...great treed sites, nice playground with lots of places to kick the ball around. Nice beach and you can swim in it. Playground is just off the beach so you just turn your chair around. Garner Lake is my fav for all the same reasons. We did Carson Pegasus this year. Nice treed spots; you can fish off the wall or rent a boat. Playground and beach much smaller and not as nice.” ~ Krystina S.

“As long as there is a playground and some form of water to either go swimming or skip rocks on, my kids are happy! My oldest did like going to the National Parks, though, so he could attend the interpretive programs and become a “Park Ranger”. ~ Deanne K.
