Calgary, AB- Alberta Ballet II is launching a nationwide audition tour this month for the 2016- 2017 Season with stops in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Now recruiting for its third year, Alberta Ballet II provides the ideal bridging platform from aspiring student to professional dancer.

This year's successful candidates will not only have the opportunity to participate in Alberta Ballet's 2016 tour of The Nutcracker, but also two other major, full length works, created by renowned choreographers Ben Stevenson and Edmund Stripe. In addition, members of Alberta Ballet II are an integral part of Alberta Ballet’s Education and Outreach programs – and will tour and perform for over 20,000 Albertans throughout the season.

Since the program launched in 2014, Alberta Ballet II doubled in size in 2015, and all of the original members successfully gained employment with professional dance companies across North America.

Alberta Ballet II is an innovative project created to attract Canada’s top-level dancers who are on the verge of successful professional careers. Led by Director Aram Manukyan, this free, one to two year program for emerging artists launched June 30, 2014. Members are chosen through a competitive audition tour.
