#HelloYegBook Kickstarter

August 28th, 2015

For Immediate Release
Edmonton, Alberta – There’s a new project about to launch in Edmonton that celebrates Edmonton locations, history and facts while facilitating learning and creativity. #HelloYegBook is a passion project of local illustrator, Jason Blower, seeking community support through a kickstarter campaign that launches August 29th, 2015.

This new activity and colouring book incorporates Science, Math, Language Arts, Social Studies curriculum for grades K-3, all with a local twist. Learning local history and local relevant knowledge is a unique opportunity for children to immediately visualize and apply what they have learned. #HelloYegBook incorporates a vision of a multicultural society that supports inclusion, community, and the adoption of the city as home, by presenting various features of the city in a fun educational way.

“#HelloYegBook will have a very broad appeal and be a positive product for Schools, Parents, new members to the city, the city government, Edmonton Tourism, as well as all the wonderful features of the city. The book is a big project (150-200 pages when complete), and although I can fund a good portion of the production of it, but I can’t quite do it myself and need support”, said #HelloYegBook creator, Jason Blower. “I am looking for sponsors to sponsor books in schools, and I am starting a Kickstarter crowd funding campaign”.

The kickstarter campaign runs August 29-September 29 and offers rewards of postcards, books, art prints, limited edition prints, school visits, and personalized commission by Jason Blower. #HelloYegBook will be available November 1, 2015. The book will retail at $25, upon the success of the Kickstarter Campaign..

This isn’t Blower’s first embarkment into children’s colouring and education. Previously Blower launched an Edmonton based colouring book with some basic history and memory associated activities, which has sold over 3000 copies over the last couple of years.

“I am a proud Edmontonian who has presented our fair city throughout my work. It has been my hope that through my work to
visualize, instill and inspire pride in the citizens of Edmonton. A city that loves itself, believes in itself and makes itself better.”
Jason Blower is educated in both Visual Communications (B of Des) and in Child Education (B of Ed) and has the ability to merge both of those disciplines together. With his upbringing by a father who is a Historian and former Provincial Museum Employee, he believes that he has created a valuable brand and product in this colouring book.
