September 3: Fit Fun Family Hour at Wood Buffalo Regional Library from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Main Floor Program Room. Enjoy the fun side of fitness with an active hour of dance, fitness, Zumba, games and more.
September 3: Fort McMurray’s Largest Car Show from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fort City Car Show is a fun, all ages event for the whole family. We bring together some of the coolest toys Fort McMurray has to offer. Motorcycles, cars and trucks, plus a portable dyno to see how they run. There will be a free BBQ from 12:00 to 2:00, plus bouncy castles and face painting for the kids.
September 3: Community Registration Day - presented by Syncrude from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nexen Field House.
September 4: Sunday Funday at Wood Buffalo Regional Library in the Main Floor Program Room from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Take part in some friendly competition with a selection of board games and Wii U games on the big screen!

September 6, 7, 13, 27: ESL Conversation Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wood Buffalo Regional Library , Study Room A. This program is for newcomers to Fort McMurray & Canada who want the opportunity to practice reading, writing, and speaking English.
September 8-9: Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Unifor Building (10019 MacDonald Avenue). Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.
The MHFA 2 day workshop will teach participants how to understand and identify someone in need and how to provide support and crisis first aid skills. Register by calling SOS at 780-743-8605 or email email@example.com.
September 10: Urban Market - The Hub Chili Cook-Off from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come down to the market this weekend with yourself and your family for food, fun, shopping, live music and don't forget... CHILI! This week we are pairing up with The Hub to put on this awesome event and we hope to see you all there!

September 17: Empty Bowls Festival in support of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank, presented by John Wilson’s Hedco Group from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jubilee Plaza/McMurray Experience. This is a family-friendly celebration of local talent in visual and performing arts and fine crafts that will draw the community together and bring awareness to local hunger issues and raise funds for the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. Guests will purchase a hand-crafted bowl made by the Fort McMurray Potter’s Guild for $20 (Kids 12 and under for $10), and with that bowl will be able to make their way around the festival sampling creations from several different stations hosted by local eateries.
