November 15: 11:00-5:00 pm The City of Edmonton in partnership with the Downtown Business Association, Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Farmers Market present Christmas On The Square Holiday Light Up! During the day enjoy shopping at the farmers market, listening to the many musical performances, wagon rides, free hot chocolate and much more!  This year Edmonton will be lighting up the largest Christmas Tree the city has ever seen - and possibly the largest Christmas Tree in Canada!  Fireworks will be displayed in conjunction with the 'light up' ceremony that takes place at 5pm. November 15-16: St. Albert Place Visual Arts Council presents The Country Craft Fair at St. Albert Place. This annual fundraiser where over 100 exhibitors feature their work in home décor, fine art, floral, glass, jewelry, pottery, photography, quilting, wood and more. November 15, 2008 (Saturday) from 12 pm to 4 pm, the University of Alberta Museums host Science Saturday, an afternoon of discovery for kids ages 5 to 12.

Calling all Junior Researchers: Science Saturday for kids!

During Science Saturday, kids can explore the natural sciences through a wide range of fun, hands-on activities including examining fossils, taking part in an archaeological dig, tracking animal camouflage tactics, exploring the secrets of meteorites, learning how light creates a rainbow, and much more. Kids with adult chaperones can drop in any time during the afternoon to participate at no charge.

Science Saturday, a special Centenary version of Science Sunday held annually in March, is located at the U of A in the Earth Sciences Building off of Saskatchewan Drive.
