Alberta Justice – Focus on Communication in Separation (FOCIS) Phone: 644-5092 FOCIS is a free 6-hour, skill based communication class for separated or divorced parents of young children. The workshop teaches parents how to communicate effectively while parenting apart. Parents learn how to help their children by showing them that people do not have to argue to get their ideas across. Eight weekly sessions provide first time moms with information about adjusting to motherhood, sleep issues, infant crying, growth and learning, healthy eating, and safety. Each series runs at Health Centres across the Capital Health Region. The fee is $40. Kids Kottage provides care for the children in a safe, warm, loving environment.
